Who We Are
The Center forcITIZENS cOMMUNICATION AND jUSTICE (CECICOJU)is an indigenous, non-profit, research and advocacy organization which is pioneering the enforcement of human rights and the justiciability of the right to health in Uganda. CECICOJU was founded in 2007 and was registered under the laws of Uganda as a company limited by guarantee Certificate No. 80020000160132. CECICOJU is permitted to operate in the entire Country by the Non Governmental organisations Board under permit Number: S 5914/ 13080. It was formed to contribute towards ensuring that laws and policies are used as principal tools for the promotion and protection of health and human rights of populations in Uganda.
CECICOJU was founded in 2013 and registered in Uganda as a national non-governmental organisation (NGO). Throughout its existence, the core agenda of the organisation has been campaigning for the entrenchment of a human rights and democratic culture in Uganda. Its founders and staff are among the foremost leaders and activists in struggles for human rights and democratic reforms in Uganda, drawn from Civil Society, Faith based based organisations, Persons with Disabilities, youth, and Political wing.. CECICOJU works at community level with human rights networks (HURINETS) across Uganda and links community, national and international human rights concerns.
